Genomatica has developed a substantial collection of intellectual property. As of January 9, 2012, we owned or had licensed rights to 31 issued patents and 292 pending patent applications in the United States and in various foreign jurisdictions, in addition to our trade secrets and other intellectual property rights. Our intellectual property currently targets processes to produce over 20 intermediate and basic chemicals, including our first target chemical, BDO, and our second target chemical, butadiene.
